St. Paul's            E-pistle          March 17, 2016 This Sunday, March 20th Sunday of the Passion Palm Sunday The voice of the suffering savior, Jesus, can be heard in the prophet Isaiah's words and the pleading of the psalm. We are invited into the agony of our Lord in the extended reading of the story of Jesus' passion. In the second reading, we who have put on Christ in holy baptism are urged to let the mind of Christ be our own. Lent leads us to this holy moment. Embrace it. Holy Communion - 11 AM   All are welcome to receive Communion! Sunday's Readings: Isaiah 50:4-9a         Psalm 31:9-16       Philippians 2:5-11         John 22:14-23:56 Sunday's Special Music: Accompanying our pianist, Clyde Niesen, this Sunday will be Brian Wood, principle trumpet, of the Solano Symphony. Brian will provide trumpet accompaniment on the Gathering Song (All Glory, Laud, and Honor) and on the choir anthem (Wave the Palms). BASKETS OF PROMISE This Lent we're joining Lutheran World Relief's Basket of Promise campaign.  Each week, we'll collect a different item that we'll use to assemble Personal Care Kits that give people around the world tools to stay healthy in life's most challenging situations.
