At our last congregation meeting, we discussed developing a mission statement. And you were given homework to think about the content of that mission statement. I wanted to narrow that assignment down a little bit to make our conversation easier. Here is what I am suggesting: - Think about what things our congregation does that are important to you, in other words, what ministries matter (for example quilting, feeding people, gardening, etc.)
- Also think about ministries we do not currently do but could now that we have more people.
- Think of how to describe these ministries in one or two words.
- Write down those words and bring them with you on Sunday or send them to me at pastor_dawn@holytrinityvallejo.org
- On Sunday we will write down all these words and have people vote on their top five.
- These top five words will be used to craft a draft mission statement which we will vote to accept at a future meeting we will set. (I will be asking for volunteers for the writing team.)
If you are wondering why we are doing this, it is because the mission statement will be used to drive our discussion about properties. As I have said already, we should choose a building based upon which one will help us live out our mission statement. Please email me at the address above if you have questions. Rev.
